ABOUT

My clients benefit from my 30+ years experience as an award-winning writer and editor. They know me as a consummate professional who consistently delivers clear, accurate, accessible copy on deadline with zero drama. A lifelong learner, I’m continually upgrading my skills.

In my freelance editorial work, I’ve bylined 250+ magazine features and a weekly food column, edited two regional magazines, and authored six books (one ghosted), focusing on travel, architecture & design, historic preservation, real estate, food, gardening, interior design, fashion, and other lifestyle topics. Two of my books and the annual magazine I edited received regional and national awards.

In addition to editorial work, my career has encompassed international marketing, strategy development, public relations management, trend analysis, data and information analysis, public policy work, and writing press releases, case studies, speeches, white papers, questionnaires, and reports. It has spanned work in government and in the arts, consulting to a group of Fortune 50 clients, trend analysis in the pharmaceutical industry, and real estate marketing and sales. I currently hold real estate licenses in Massachusetts and New York, and has a TEFL Certification.

As a native English speaker and former expatriate who has worked in Japan and the Philippines, I’m comfortable working with clients whose first language is not English.

A native of Long Island, New York, I’ve lived and worked in Washington, D.C., Boston, New York City, Manila (Philippines), and Tokyo (Japan). I currently reside in the Berkshires, a 2-hour drive from NYC and Boston. My hobbies include photography, interior design, food and cooking, gardening, reading, and creative writing. I’m passionate about good writing, international travel, preservation of historic sites and structures, and learning about different people and their ways of life.
